Our week

Things went well with Claire on Monday and Tuesday. Unfortunately, Wednesday brought an unexpected turn of events. First of all, Breanne didn't do as well with her monitoring as she needed to in order to go home. She is still in the NICU, and they are remonitoring her tonight. She has been having issues with Reflux, which has been the reason for her being unable to keep her food down well. She has been doing well the last few days since she is being elevated in her crib, using special nipples, etc. We have high hopes that tonights monitoring will go well and we can bring her home tomorrow. The second event that happened on Wednesday involved admitting Claire to the NICU. She had an in-house check up with a nurse and her temperature was low. Since this can be a sign of an infection, we were told to bring her back to the hospital. After spending time in the emergency room and subjecting poor little Claire to tons of tests, she was admitted to a room in the NICU across the hall from her sister. She was put on antibiotics for 48 hours as a precaution and was monitored until her blood cultures came back negative today. Claire was discharged today and will have another check-up in a few days. Needless to say, we have had a very draining week!
Here are some more pics of our girls. Breanne is on top and Claire is on bottom. As you can probably see, Claire has some serious catching up to do in order to be as big as her sister.
