A Weekend at Wild River State Park

We spent Halloween weekend at a cabin in Wild River State Park. The park is only about 30-45 minutes away and is absolutely beautiful. Of course, this time of year, things were a little more dreary than in the summertime. We had some pretty cool weather, so we spent a lot of time hanging out in the cabin playing games and staying warm by the gas fireplace. Angela and TJ spent one night with us. We had some very heated games of Phase 10. It was nice to get away and just relax. This was actually the first Halloween that we didn't carve pumpkins in about 4 years. We got the pumpkins, but didn't get the time to carve them. So, we actually made a pumpkin pie from scratch with one of them. It wasn't bad, but I think we both prefer the pumpkin pie filling from the store. We are glad we tried it though. As always, we are staying busy with work. I am really enjoying my new job, although the days can be a little long. I am looking forward to celebrating my friend Katie's birthday this weekend by going to a salon to get our hair and makeup done then going out for a nice dinner and drinks. It should be a great night with some great friends. Lance is desparately trying to get in shape for the wrestling season. He hopes to wrestle in a college open tournament next weekend as long as he makes weight. We'll keep you posted!
