Labor Day in North Dakota

We hope you all enjoyed your long weekend. We took on the adventure of driving 6 hours to help family and friends celebrate my grandpa's 80th birthday. It was great to be back in Devils Lake and see family that I hadn't seen in years. We were even able to spend a perfect day at my grandparents cabin on Wood Lake once the party was over. Lance enjoyed exploring the hobby of fishing, although his casting skills are somewhat lacking. There were at least two occassions where he actually had to go into the lake to retrieve his fishing pole after accidentally letting go of it mid-cast. We all had a good laugh over it, although not for long since he was one of very few who actually caught a fish. Now that our last big summer "Hoorah" is over, we are able to look forward to some other events. We plan to go to Duluth soon to have a fish fry, which will include Lance's big catch. I also have a camping trip planned for the end of the month with my sister and friends. It is very depressing and hard to believe that the summer is quickly coming to an end. I think a lot of us Minnesotans are already dreading winter. Enjoy the fall while it lasts!
