Our Winter

Well, I have once again been neglecting my "blogging duties."  I guess we can start with our Thanksgiving.  We drove up to Duluth Thanksgiving Day and had a delicious lunch prepared by my Mom.  Pat and his family were there for a short while before Pat had to report back to work.  Angela and Reed spent the day with Reed's family.  We headed home the next day as Lance and I were feeling under the weather with colds.  We had a quiet holiday weekend.  The first part of December consisted mostly of getting the girls to school, finishing the Christmas shopping, and finishing the girls' session of tumbling, savoring some unusually warm weather, and taking steps to get our house ready to be put on the market. We headed back up to Duluth Christmas Eve and enjoyed a nice evening with my entire family. We had to come back on Christmas Day since Lance had to work the next day.  We went to a family-friendly New Year's Eve party at the local Community Center where we enjoyed swimming, bounce houses, and pizza.  Since the holidays, Lance has been traveling a lot again.  The girls are now back in school and we are enrolled for the next tumbling session that starts in March.  Now, we are just getting prepared for the girls' birthday next week and the arrival of Lance's parents at the end of the month.  The exciting, but somewhat unofficial, news around here is that Lance has accepted a job offer with his company out in Woodburn, OR.  The position has to be posted online before he can get the official offer.  All terms have been agreed upon, so assuming all goes as planned, Lance will start his new position May 1st.  We will be putting our house on the market March 1st and are hoping for a quick sale.  Obviously, there are a lot of things up in the air, but the process seems to be moving along.  One thing at a time, right?  I will admit that I am not exactly thrilled about moving so far from my family, but we know a lot of great people (including relatives) in the area already and we are excited about what this means for Lance's career. So, 2015 already looks to be full of changes and adventures.
