Catching up

Wow, what a busy month!  We celebrated Lance's birthday and the girls' birthday, had a week-long visit from Lance's parents, and made a few trips to Duluth.  First of all, I have to say that we have been enduring a rather miserable winter.  I heard on the news that over 50 of the last 70 days in Duluth did not have temps above zero degrees.  I know that we had to have been close to that as well.  Needless to say, we have not been able to be outside much.  The birthdays and family visits have been a great distraction.  While Lance's parents were here, we did a lot of fun activities.  We went to the local mall to ride the carousel, had the girls' birthday party at the Monkey House (a building full of inflatable bounce houses and other things where the kids could just run and be free) went to the Mall of America to have our first Build-A-Bear and Disney Store experiences, watched the Super Bowl (we had some very happy Seahawks fans at the end of the night), went to the movie Frozen (the girls actually sat through the whole thing), went to the trampoline park, went to a local indoor play area called Lookout Ridge, and went to a great children's bookstore in Minneapolis.  Obviously, it was a week of spoiling our little girls rotten.  It has been a challenge getting them to accept our boring old routine again.  Lance has been traveling a lot for work, so we made a trip to Duluth last week.  The girls and I took Auntie Angie to the aquarium and out to lunch one of the days.  It was a great outing for us girls.  We didn't do anything exciting to celebrate Valentine's Day, as we have all been battling colds and weren't feeling the best.  The girls had their 3-year wellness check the other day, and it was fun to see how much they have grown. Stats: Claire's weight was 33 lbs. and 3.2 oz. (73rd percentile) and her height was 3 ft. and 2.25 in. (77th percentile); Breanne's weight was 36 lbs. and 9.6 oz. (91st percentile) and her height was 3 ft. and 2.5 in (81st percentile). Such big girls! The last (but certainly not the least) bit of excitement around here is that the girls are FINALLY mastering potty training.  We have gone days without accidents. Bye bye diapers!!!!!!
