Our Doctor Visit

On Friday the girls had their 9-month doctor appointment. Besides getting the flu shot and having their fingers poked for a blood draw, the visit went well. The doctor said that developmentally they are both at where a lot of 12 months are. Apparently, we have some quick learners! She predicts that we will have early walkers on our hands. She could also feel Claire's upper gums bulging, which means more teeth are on the way. We have been a little concerned about Claire because her head does not seem to be forming into a nice round shape. We have now been referred to a specialist to see if a cranial cap (shaping helmet) will be necessary. This is simply a cosmetic issue, but we don't want it to be something that she could be self-conscious about as she gets older. So, we'll just have to see what the specialist says. I guess this specialist is actually one of the doctors that helped invent the cranial cap, so I have no doubt that we will be in good hands. At any rate, here are the most recent stats: Breanne weighed 22lbs and 4oz (91st percentile) and measured 29.5 inches (94th percentile), while Claire weighed 20 lbs and 4 0z (70th percentile) and measured 29 inches (87th percentile). Recent baby developments: Breanne just discovered how to shake her head "no". I don't know if she is really associating it with the word "no" yet, but she always has a big grin on her face when she does it. Too funny!
